What information do we collect about you?
(1) Information you give to us
We may collect personal data from you when you buy or use our products or services, when your vehicle is connected to our IT systems, when you attend Maxi Mover events or visit a Maxi Mover Centre, sign up to Maxi Mover newsletters or other subscription services, enter into offers or promotions, interact with us on social media platforms, contact us, make a complaint or use our Websites.
The categories of personal data we may request include your name, occupation, contact information (email, postal address and phone/mobile number), credit card/payment details, driving licence details, vehicle and driving data and general information about you such as your experience with Maxi Mover products and services. We may also keep copies of any correspondence you send us which may include personal data.
You should only give us personal data on behalf of someone else if you have their permission to do so or you know that they would not have any objection to us processing their information in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
(2) Information collected by automated means
We also obtain some of your personal data by automated means, for example, when your vehicle is connected to our IT systems we collect vehicle and driving data, when you enter zones at our premises monitored by CCTV, when you telephone for customer assistance your calls are recorded and when you visit our Websites we collect the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet, the geographical location of your device, the browser you are using, the type of device you are using (tablet, mobile, desktop), the URL you came from and the web pages you access.
(3) Information collected from third parties
We may receive personal data about you from the following third parties:
- We may request information about you from credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies to assist us in the provision of our goods and services to you.
- Some of our Maxi Mover Centres are operated by third party dealers and licensed to sell Maxi Mover products and services. These dealers collect your personal data when you contact a Maxi Mover Centre in connection with a purchase or prospective purchase, and pass this information on to us.
- We may sometimes purchase information about prospective customers from third party organisations for marketing purposes. We will always take steps to ensure that your personal data is only used for these purposes if you have consented to receive marketing materials from us. You can opt out from receiving our marketing communications at any time by following the instructions in any of the messages you receive.
We will never knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of sixteen (16) without first obtaining verifiable parental consent. If you are under the age of 16 you should not provide information to us. If we become aware that a person under 16 has provided personal data to us without verifiable parental consent, we will remove such personal data from our files.

Providing your personal data to us may be required due to a legal obligation which could be a statutory or contractual obligation, may be on a voluntary basis or may be necessary for us to enter into the contract with you, depending on the purposes for which we collect and use your personal data as set out in this Privacy Notice. However, if you do not provide your personal data to us this may result in disadvantages to you, e.g. we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. However, unless otherwise stated, not providing your personal data will not result in legal consequence for you.
How do we protect your personal data?
Until 30 June 2018 we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software and thereafter we will use Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.1 or higher to protect your online transactions. SSL/TLS encrypts the personal data you provide to us before travelling over the internet. We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the personal data you provide to us against accidental, unlawful or unauthorised destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use and other unlawful forms of processing. Our website is hosted by Yello Media. They provide us with the platform to present our information to you.
Your data protection rights
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access. You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we are processing about you, which we will provide back to you in electronic form. For your own privacy and security, in our discretion we may require you to prove your identity before providing the requested information. If you require multiple copies of your personal data, we may charge a reasonable administration fee where we are permitted to do so in accordance with the GDPR.
